Quanta or Qualia?
If you were curious to understand how storytelling resonated constructively or destructively with other narratives around us, you would have two avenues of inquiry:
- The medium. How are we topologically interconnected? For once, we could notice how real-time information flows making geographic proximity more or less constraining; or on the contrary, how important are access, trust and common institutions to decision-making. In times of diffused volatility, this presents an opportunity. To come back to our previous analogy of a mountain: a promenade feels very different if the floor is made of lava!
- The message. We could abstract away all the properties of the vibrating medium where interference happens and study how stories entangle. How different schemas meet, their algebras and characters. This road is uphill, but deserves some considerations:
- We live in times of global interconnectedness. Information flows freely and fastest than ever, with greatest uncertainty and volatility.
New correlations and echoes become even more significant, if we can spot them! D.
